Course Description
Every year in France, hundreds of workers die from accidents that happened in the presence of colleagues who did not know what to do. The first minutes after a workplace incident; a cardiac arrest, a severe laceration, a chemical exposure, a fall, determine whether a person survives, recovers, or suffers lasting harm. The Sauveteur Secouriste du Travail SST certification exists because waiting for emergency services is not a response: it is a delay.
This SST Certification course was designed for employees in all sectors who need to obtain or renew their SST certification and develop the confidence to act effectively in a real emergency. You will learn to assess a situation under pressure, perform CPR and use an AED, manage severe bleeding and trauma, respond to workplace-specific hazards, and fulfil the legal role of the SST as defined by the French Labour Code and INRS standards.
Across six practical modules, you will move from prevention and risk identification to life-threatening emergency response, trauma management, workplace-specific incidents, and the legal and regulatory framework that governs your responsibilities as a certified first responder. By the end of this course, you will be equipped to act when it counts with the technique, the legal clarity, and the presence of mind that saves lives.
Why SST Certification Training Matters
In France, over 600,000 workplace accidents are recorded every year — and the first person on the scene is almost never a doctor.
The French Labour Code requires employers to ensure that trained first responders are present and accessible in the workplace at all times. When that obligation is not met or when the person present does not know how to act the consequences fall on the victim, the colleagues, and the organisation that failed to prepare them.

Where This SST Course Takes You
Assess any emergency situation and act with method under pressure
You will be able to evaluate scene safety, assess a victim's condition rapidly and accurately, communicate the right information to emergency services, and prioritise your actions in the critical first minutes — before professional responders arrive.
Perform CPR, use an AED, and manage life-threatening emergencies
You will practise cardiac arrest response, CPR technique, AED operation, and airway obstruction management to the standard required for SST certification — with the confidence to apply these skills on a real person, in a real environment, when every second counts.
Respond to trauma, medical emergencies, and workplace-specific hazards
From severe bleeding and burns to fractures, chemical exposure, fire response, and psychological shock, you will be equipped to handle the full range of incidents that occur in real workplaces — including those specific to your sector and environment.
Understand your legal role and maintain your certification with confidence
You will know the obligations placed on employers and SSTs under the French Labour Code, understand INRS and CNAM standards, and manage your certification validity and renewal cycle — so your training remains current, compliant, and ready to deploy.
